Lynk & Co 06 | CMF Design
At a time when many compact SUVs were defined by conservative interiors and predictable material choices, the Lynk & Co 06 set out to challenge expectations. The CMF strategy focused on creating a vibrant, contemporary environment that expressed individuality and optimism, aligning with the lifestyles and aspirations of a younger audience. By leveraging colour, materiality, and texture as key storytelling tools, the project helped establish a distinctive identity within a highly competitive market.
From a CMF perspective, the Lynk & Co 06 addressed a common issue within the compact SUV segment: a lack of emotional engagement. Many competitors relied on safe, neutral interiors and conventional material palettes that prioritised functionality over personality. The opportunity was to create a vehicle that customers could connect with emotionally, transforming it from a purely practical product into a lifestyle-oriented experience.
The User
The CMF strategy was developed for a younger, design-conscious audience who view their vehicle as an extension of their identity. Influenced by trends in fashion, technology, and contemporary interiors, these customers expect products to feel fresh, expressive, and relevant to their lifestyles. Beyond functionality, they seek products that reflect their values and individuality.
Design Objective
The objective was to create an interior atmosphere that felt energetic, optimistic, and contemporary while remaining practical for everyday urban use. Colours, materials, and finishes were carefully selected to communicate confidence and individuality, helping the vehicle stand apart from more traditional SUVs while reinforcing Lynk & Co's progressive and youthful brand positioning.
Design Development
